Medieval Beads Found in Mali
Most of these beads are Middle Eastern and were involved in the trans-Saharan Trade.  The
plain wound yellows, called "bota" in Ghana, may be more recent.  There may be a couple of
Modern Venetians here.

 A.  63 beads, 20 inches, average length 8 mm (longest is 20 mm).  Good condition (few if
any gross chips or cracks), modest decomposition.  $900.
B.  More beads found in Mali.  34 beads, 16 inches, average length 15 mm.  Most
are oblates.  
Good condition (few if any gross chips or cracks), modest
decomposition.  $1,000.
C.  Aggrey or kori.  Medieval Venetian drawn beads.  Variably dichroic (sky blue/sea green).  The blue
money beads of the trans-Saharan trade.  58 beads, 27 inches, 39 grams.  Grade A.  $495.
