What happens at BCN when one challenges authorities? Will one be banned by Admin? Will one get an arrogant email from a guru?
Answers: Most likely "YES" to both questions. People have been banned for challenging authorities and you might get an arrogant e-mail as well. Here's an e-mail recently forwarded to us anonymously:
"I consider myself to be the Ralph Nader of the bead world. Some people think they want "information," but what they are really after (because they don't get much in their lives) is affirmation and confirmation. There are some people who should talk, and there are some people who should just listen. People who ought to listen are probably going to be disappointed if they don't realize this, and if they instead try to talk. Because they will be told what the facts are when they get it wrong, by people who know. I try not to waste my time on those people--because I believe it is pointless, and an actual waste of my time."
You're not allowed to challenge authorities at BCN. Once you post your beads and questions, you should sit back and wait for answers. If you don't like the answers, you should understand that resident authorites are generously volunteering their time and doing the bead world a great service by participating. Any ungrateful behavior displayed in the form of "challenges" to these authorities must understandably be met with banishment from the forum. I'm sure you understand!
Concerning the e-mail question, we think the above communication sums it up. There is clearly a hierarchy in the bead world and people who overstep the bounds must necessarily be brought back into line. It's unfortunate that authorities sometimes have to bring deviants back into line with arrogant e-mails, but this is a fact of life in the bead world. I'm sure you understand!
