Question on Kori Beads...
Greetings! I have a question re Kori beads: C. Davison (1972) says that the opaque corded and the dichroic beads are essentially the same? She says that she has found one bead that is corded and dichroic, which led her to reach this conclusion?

It would be hard to conclude that the opaque corded and the dichroic beads are the same. There are numerous specimens in the group that are both corded and dichroic. Of course, what is "corded"? There's all kinds of "cording".

Dichroic glass beads are NOT "opaque." The dichroic effect is only possible because the glass happens to be of a certain translucency, caused by particulate suspension. The glass only appears opaque in reflected light, but is clearly translucent in transmitted light.
